Social Impact Day — Technology for Meaningful Social and Environmental Change
Social Impact Day is an international event series bringing together technology, capital and organisations working to address significant social and environmental challenges.
The series connects impact-tech startups, investors, corporate leaders, foundations, nonprofit and institutional organisations, researchers and public-sector representatives.
Events take place alongside major international technology and impact conferences, creating opportunities to discuss solutions that can be implemented, funded and scaled.
The series is created and operated by TechEmbassy.

Locations
Event Calendar and International Locations
Social Impact Day is developed around conferences where technology companies, investors, corporations and international impact organisations come together.
The first announced edition in the current calendar will take place in Lisbon on 11 November 2026 during Web Summit.
Further events are being developed around ChangeNOW, SOCAP, Web Summit and other major conferences across Europe, North America and additional international markets.
Each edition responds to the priorities of its host city and region while remaining part of one connected international series.

Definition
What We Mean by Social Impact
Social Impact Day extends beyond philanthropy, broad sustainability statements and conventional corporate responsibility programmes.
The series focuses on practical solutions that use technology, new business models and cross-sector collaboration to create measurable social or environmental outcomes.
Participants may include commercial technology companies, social enterprises, nonprofit projects and institutional initiatives. The essential requirements are a clearly defined problem, real users or beneficiaries, a practical path to implementation and the potential to scale.
The objective is to move the impact conversation from intentions towards solutions, investment, pilot projects and long-term partnerships.

Startups
Impact-Tech Startup Programme
Selected Social Impact Day editions include a dedicated programme for technology startups and social enterprises.
The selection process considers:
- the significance and clarity of the problem being addressed
- the role of technology within the solution
- evidence of a product, users or validated market need
- the sustainability of the business or operating model
- the potential to scale
- the ability to define and measure impact
- relevance to the focus of the specific event
Selected companies may participate in pitch competitions, expert sessions, investor meetings and introductions to corporate and institutional partners.
Participation does not guarantee investment or a pilot project. The programme provides access to a relevant audience, professional evaluation and relationships that may continue after the event.

Collaboration
From Understanding the Problem to Practical Collaboration
Social Impact Day connects four groups that often operate separately:
- organisations with a direct understanding of social or environmental challenges
- technology companies capable of developing solutions
- investors and funders able to provide capital
- corporate and institutional partners able to implement and scale projects
For corporations, the series provides a structured way to discover solutions and develop a substantive impact agenda.
For investors, it creates access to qualified impact-tech companies and projects.
For startups, it provides connections with capital, potential customers and implementation partners.
For foundations, governments and nonprofit organisations, it offers access to technologies and entrepreneurial models that may strengthen their programmes.
